Please feel free to email the Gaffer any suggestions for updates or suggestions to the site.

The site still has the same fantastic news, stories and updates on all your favourite players plus we will be bringing you some exciting new items.

Saturday June 13th 2009

Apologies for the lack of updates recently. A severe verucha has prevented me from updating the site with news of your favourite amateur team.
Quick updates on the close of the indoor season for the Co Ed and Over 30's teams. Co Ed managed to make the play offs but lost in a hard fought game against Benfica in the semi finals, Benfica going on to win the play offs. Over 30's played Riverplate in the play offs and with a few new faces to Riverplate and a truly lamentable performance from us, we lost very badly.

So to put the indoor behind us and welcome the summer with our regular outdoor leagues at Soccer City and in the Halton Peel Senior Soccer League. We played a single pre season friendly against Brampton and lost 4 - 1 but it was good to see a few new faces and blow out the cobwebs for outdoor. Soccer City started May 29th and so far we have played 3 games - v Istra Ucka (1 -1 draw), Men United (not kidding - Won 6 - 2) and Ozery Pita Break (good grief) on Thursday last which we won 6 - 2.

On the Sunday Over 30's, we have also played 3 games since the league started June 1st - v SMT (0 - 0), Georgetown 2 (2 - 1 win) and last weeks very tight 2 - 1 loss to the Benfica Eagles. So a reasonable start to the season for both teams. A week off for the Soccer City squad, next game is June 25th (Thursday) and tomorrow, a re match against Brampton at Century Gardens.

Other items, those who have not paid need to cough up the dosh to Mr G so he can settle with Soccer City and also we can look at investing in a new kit which we are hoping to get through a contact at Adidas.

And finally, Mr G's latest post:

Ladies and Gents.

First things first....the kit. As much as I love each and every one of you as if I had spat you out into the world myself, I really do not like having to handle shirts, shorts and socks that are bunged into the kit bag inside out, rolled up into balls and generally damp with musky perspiration. I have a very strong stomach, (after all, I have seen all of you, with notable exceptions, naked) but having to use my delicate digits to turn a pair of pungent, damp shorts the right way out is just too much to take. Yes, the kit is old. But it is still usable and still needs to be washed. Therefore, please try and remember to put it in the kit bag the right way out. Unless, of course, you enjoy thinking of me up to my elbows in sweaty kit. If you do think that, get yourself into therapy pronto.

Next...

Tomorrow night at soccer city. Money Gents. Pay up please. It says something when new chaps like Adam and semi new chaps like Cristian have paid before the veterans. We have a hefty bill to pay at soccer city and I would like to chip off a large chunk of it this week. Also, please do not leave tomorrow until I have had you sign the roster sheet, sign your card if you are a new player and the form from soccer city clearing them of liability in all cases except catastrophic failure of the entire social fabric. I have seen two volunteers for beer tomorrow. We need one more.

Sunday we are at Century Gardens for the over 30's. I know Tim, Paul C, Chris F, Ahmed are away. Anyone else? Again, if you have not paid, bring it Sunday. I want to get all the money sorted, put aside the money we need for refs for the year and any misc. cost and have a good figure for a new kit. I think we will have enough for a very decent kit indeed plus a good goalkeeper shirt. So, please, cough it up. Those who have not played yet, you need to let me know your plans for the season. Give me an idea of how many games you think you can make etc....Ian, Jack, I am not including you here as the three of us know the routine (Twirls moustache all evil like).

That is all. Carry on. Get back to the missus, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, midget dressed as a gimp, or all at once.
