Well everything was pretty ugly last night wasn’t it? The pitch was brutal. The light drizzle that fell didn’t make things any better. The class of our opponents was downright crap, and I was better off staying home last night as my play was just downright horrid last night. ( oh how it hurts to admit….) Pretty big game last night and both teams walked away with a point in their pockets, as we deserved 3 and they deserved none whatsoever. Tempers flared near the end and this one had all the makings of turning into something ugly, mainly due to some terrible reffing on Mr. Dean’s part. Our performance? Well we started great for the first 15 minutes, fell asleep for the next 30, woke up again to take the lead but still didn’t play to the level we were supposed to. Better to get the garbage out of our system now, then later on in the playoffs.

Good: - Baz is now the leading scorer with 7 goals on this team after potting 2 more last night. Impressive? Oh yes. His second goal a beauty on an even more beautiful cross from Damian. - Damo….yet again. OK, so he might yell a little too much and his Keyshawn Johnson attitude of ‘just give me the damn ball’ might be a little out of control, but……………..isnt that what you want? A guy who will accept the responsibility and make things happen, which is certainly what he does for us. Another solid outing from this lad as he dominated in the middle and made things happen. - The defence……as a unit. The goals they scored were ugly, and most of all flukey and cannot be faulted on this unit. Rennie and Darren playing solid as usual. Bad: - lack of sportsmanship on Strella’s part on the tying goal. The ball was clearly 2 feet out of bounds but the idiot continued to play it. Dean partially to blame here, as his antics of grazing in the middle of the pitch life an oversized heffer didn’t help things. I thought Trevor was going to rip that lads head off who continued the play. What I found funny was how all of the sudden that player didn’t know ‘English’ anymore…….. B.S.! - Reffing. I guess someone was on a power trip last night? Call it one way, you should call it the same for the other team.

Ugly: - Me. Every damn aspect of my game was garbage last night. I’m really hating myself this morning. Hug?

Next up: Cup game not set yet as the team we face will be determined this Saturday when Castlefield collides with Rexdale. Both very solid young squads, so Madrid will be in tough with whomever comes out of this one. League wise sees us tussle with Ukraine next Thursday night who are in a battle with Astra for a playoff berth. And us? We’re not in the clear yet lads. Ukraine plays the lowly Hotspurs tonight, and Astra gets the Hotspurs twice next week. This division will be guaranteed to be very tight a week from today.
